Streaming...?

You may have all noticed that we haven't had streams of the last few episodes. That's because it's tough to find places that will let us upload large files for free, so we can then stream them. We'll probably get around to doing streams once we have enough listeners to justify paying for hosting.

Any thoughts?

Episode Three Supplemental: Lazy Bastard Radio North

So, originally, we'd planned on having Lazy Bastard Radio North on as a co-host, but due to scheduling issues, it just didn't happen that way. Instead, once Thomas had run off to do his actor thing, Corey and I sat down via the webs and did this supplement.

It's pretty heavy on gamer content, but don't let that make you nervous. Enjoy!

-Adam

Episode Three: Olympics, Box Wine, and Serial Killers

Episode Three of The Most Popular Podcast in the Known Universe is here for your amusement.

We actually experimented with editing in this one, which led to a bit of a screw-up, and I somehow erased the last few minutes. I don't know if we lost anything important... but, as I keep saying, learn by doing.

Keep your eyes on this space for the supplement, wherein I interview Corey, from Lazy Bastard Radio North!

Headset microphone upgrade!

I know there have been some issues with sound quality in the previous episodes, but I have recently picked up a fancy new headset with microphone that ought to clear up the problem. Another advantage is that it will force us to record everyone's dialogue on separate tracks (unless we have multiple "remote" guests) which ought to make any needed editing much easier.

Welcome back to the most popular podcast in the known universe!

Here's Episode Two to download.

We have no idea why the volume is as "off" as it is. We'll have to figure it out as we go.

Streaming up when we get it up, and shownotes probably tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Slight problem with the hosting. All better now. Download away!

Can't use the streaming player?

We've had some reports of people not being able to use the streaming player to listen to the show. Serendipitously, that's because of something mentioned IN the show: Google is no longer supporting a lot of their applications in Internet Explorer. Apparently the Google streaming player is one of those applications.

Now, the all-inclusive thing to do would be to find a different streaming player that was IE-compatible, but seriously, why aren't you people using Firefox or Chrome yet?

Both are faster and more stable than IE, and less-prone to malicious attacks. Chrome is really stripped-down, so I'd totally recommend it for older computers or netbooks.

New podcast soon! We were going to do it last night but I got in later than planned. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Shownotes up for episode one

It took me for bloody ever, but I finally got the timestamps and shownotes up for episode one. Also, I'm doing whatever I can to associate the words "the most popular podcast in the known universe" with our cast, so if you link to us and use those words, there's a prize in it for you! (note: there may not be a prize; prize may have no cash value)

Enjoy!

Woo new recording software!

I downloaded the trial version of Mixcraft today, and it looks like it will do what Audacity couldn't: cost me $70! I mean, uh, allow us to record both sides of a VoIP of web-chat conversation. Which means we can do remote interviews! And have guests! And all that other brilliant podcastery!
